Certificate II in Hospitality is provided by CQUniversity Australia, RTO 40939. Longreach State High School (RTO 30391) conducts training, assessment, and recruitment on behalf of CQUniversity. CQUniversity is responsible for the course and issuance of qualifications.#
School-based apprenticeships and traineeships
Many students in senior schooling participate in a
school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (SAT), which allows young people to train on the job in paid employment while completing nationally recognised training in the process.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) in industry has a significant role at Longreach State High School and is supported by the Industry Liaison Officer. The programmes are designed to provide practical skills and knowledge to ensure students have increased employment options available after school.
The Industry Liaison Officer provides assistance and guidance in all areas, including work experience and SATs.

Our signature rural operations programme is proudly supported by RESQ+.
Our partner schools have the opportunity to deliver these courses to their students for
no fees on their school site. Longreach State High School is responsible for the course and issuance of qualifications. Each school can provide qualified trainers to conduct training and assessment on behalf of Longreach State High School, or Longreach State High School can provide remote training and assessment, with work placements or practical camps.

VET in Schools (VETiS) funding supports the delivery of some certificate courses. Eligibility criteria applies and students may only access this funding
ONCE.
Access to Certificate courses as a VETiS or self-funded student should be discussed with the school during any VET enrolment process.
# Longreach State High School will assist students in applying for a CQUniversity TAFE course. This includes obtaining a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Students will also need to complete a pre-enrolment literacy and numeracy assessment, called the BKSB (Basic Key Skills Builder). The BKSB will highlight any areas where require extra support may be required.
